THE "IIIL"-TYPE STRUCTURE.
This structure has (2) characteristics, as itemized below.

The constitution of each of the (3) stacks in the structure
-and its handedness-
determine its designation: "IIIL".

Explanation for -2):
Each "node" in the structure
looks like the node shown in Fig. -4(c),
when seen from the proper direction.

The node in that fig. is a left-handed node, because
it can be regarded as an incipient left-handed twist.

Thus, all the nodes in the structure are left-handed nodes,
and therefore the structure is a left-handed structure.

The fact that all the nodes in the structure are left-handed
is shown schematically in Fig. -4(d).
